I know, I know...
You need a break, Hai. I can respect that. I'm just ASKING when you will be ready to put up an update. I apologize if you had already posted the date somewhere, but I couldn't find it.
If somebody knows, please tell me! I don't want to die of old age before I finally get to see the whole story of BMA, heh!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Okay, since this is my very first post here ever, I kinda follow a mini-tradition of mine: I like to shower those people with praise that I do consider as worthy.
feel free to blush
AWEEEEEE-SUM! I could really feel I'm reaching into a world that actually exist somewhere. The fantasy world feels so complicated and yet it has rules that it follows. The only two things that would make me feel sad every time I go back and reread it again is that I wish there's more updates (Do take your time, of course!), and that there's no wikipedia or something that explain the cool stuff.
Granted... That's cheating to me; I did enjoy digging around, going back and forth between strips to try to piece everything together. Speaking of... it's funny how I figured out who the prince was just before I found out about this forum and then saw a post somewhere about the prince's real identity confirming what I had suspected.
I love the amazing cool stuff like Sola shredding Korath apart and the nasty white phantoms that took away the little girl as well. Hai, I confess! I actually got inspired by your hard work and decide for myself to revist my near-dead RPG project.
Thank you for spurring me on with your BMA comic! |

Hi there, Kitomakazu! New voices in the forums are always welcome, though this place may get a little drafty from time to time.
Actually, the problem with BMA is not that I need a break but there's simply not enough free time to spare at the moment. Right now all my efforts are concentrated on keeping my head away from the chopping block at work.
The last page for this chapter is about 60% done. However, because it's a 2-page spread, progress is a little slow. Right now, my personal goal is to finish the page by end of this month. I know it sounds like a lousy deal but that's all I can manage for the time being. I'm also hoping that things will get back on track by March as well.
But don't worry. I really love BMA and these setbacks are merely temporary setbacks.

Haha these are the two things that make me sad too. But I'm sure in time both will be properly addressed with more pages that will lead to more information for a wiki.

BMA doesn't follow a linear storyline so there's a lot of backtracking to be done. But I'm glad that you enjoyed digging around. For some time I was concerned that the story would be too complicated for casual readers, but I'm glad I chose to do it this way. I think I've driven away the casual readers around chapter 2 already.

Well thank you very much! It's good to know that you've found the inspiration to rekindle your project. Sometimes it's good to step back from something and look at it from a new perspective.
Cheer!

Whoa... You replied quickly!
I was expecting something in two days since people seems to be somewhat inactive in here. Regardless... I would be still so happy to get a reply from THE author of this awesome comic. ^_^

Oh ouch, I know what you mean... I almost got fired last week because I wasn't good at completing my work. So now, every time I get to work, I have to go into a panic-frenzy. *pat* Hang in there, even though it may stink! Oh well... I knew I usually have no problem starting something, but having a hard time finishing something.
The way you have made 100 pages (ignore my miscount if it's not even close lol) did also inspire me btw. Again, thank you for taking so much effort in building a rich, complex fantasy world.
PS just let you know that you don't have to refer to me by my full username. "Kito" is just fine with me. |

The evil that lurks in the hearts of men doesn't sleep. Well I'm always lurking the forums to watch out for spambots. They're like mushrooms. Gotta get rid of them as they spawn.

Oh, it's easy to do 100 pages. You just gotta do one page at a time. Slow and steady, ey. _________________

Spambots? I'm surprised you still get them even now.
When I had registered my account here, I had to type in a series of letters and numbers from a picture that spambots usually cannot read. But then there was no shear distortion or background noise. I don't know who does the forum's SQLs and customization, but if that person adjust the requirements of reading a picture like in the ways I have mentioned briefly... I doubt even spambots with advanced programming would be able to enter on a fully automated basis.
As for evil idiots that register spambots then let them loose... IP bans wouldn't do much
Who would go to all of that effort to register an account for a spambot though?
PS I'm just a former student of Rochester Inst. of Tech, I don't actually know much about SQLs, so don't ask me to do the fix. I'm now a student at a completely different college unrelated to computers, you see. |

Spambots are really smart right now. They can get around that random letters thing. I suppose we can upgrade the forum to a newer version that has better spam protection but Niko doesn't want to risk losing the database in case the installation fails. I think the previous time we tried it, there had been some problems. But it's not really a big deal. This is a small enough community and as long as people are informed and don't click weird links, I think we're ok.
Maybe eventually we'll find someone to be a web developer for the site. By golly, it's all a mess when you lift the rug. _________________

Hrm.. I think Niko might hate me for suggesting more work for him... lol
I was only suggesting that shear distortion be added as to make the letters a bit harder to read and that there should be some noise instead of a plain white bg (or instead of noise, break up the letters into readable pieces though...) I'm not sure if Niko has direct access to the coding that is for the generation of random letters, (think of it as in a name generator tidbit).
It's only a suggestion anyhow... I don't mind if it's dropped since you said it's not that big of a problem. Oh well, I wanted to give helpful ideas, heh. |

Oh yeah! I can't believe how my wish was granted in such a short time period.
Hrm... Hey vertiasunae, any chance you might be able to grant me the wish of a hot redhead with a kind personality and an excellent mind? Maybe something like 35-25-36, even?
Barring that, at least can I have my wish of having artistic skills at Hai's level? lol |

Aha... I just though of doing it. I'll be updating it in my holidays, hopefully when I get around to those compositions, as well!~ _________________ Composing BMA music!

Hmm... hey... You could ask the forum members to contribute articles to the wiki.
Of course, this entails receiving emails and then reading through them for the best stuff. It might be still less time-intensive for you as an alternative to doing the whole wiki all by yourself. I would be willing to write up an article or two when I happen to have the time.
I'm not sure if anything I write would qualify as the best in order to be included into the wiki, heh... |

Hai... I know you have been pretty busy with things and the "end of this month (feb)" isn't a promise or anything. Even so... I'm a bit concerned that people will abandon this wonderful comic.
Please post a page or two soon! I would love to see what is around the corner in that world of yours. |

Don't worry, your concerns are duly noted. I can't wait to get back on this myself. I'm currently on a mad dash to finish a 12-page comic commission but I'll be resuming BMA updates again on March 22nd.
Just hang in there. _________________
